Hi, thanks for pointing to the image I uploaded to Flickr, but the right photo credit is at the bottom of my Flickr image page: Photo by Amy Marash (under public domain). Given that you are providing the hosting, you don't really need to credit me (only if you wish, for making it easier to you to find it, but not for the actual picture).

Best regards!

That was ONE Incredible read..... Thanks for finding the article... What amazed me the most was:

"It has already been used to help design new drugs against malaria, the mosquito-borne disease that kills 1m people worldwide each year. Researchers used the grid to analyse 140m compounds - a task that would have taken a standard internet-linked PC 420 years."

And people are already amazed at the internet now!!! But alas, it is only the beginning!!!

Keep up the great work :)
Cheers!

Frank, I think the difficulty in this debate is rooted in moralising about these things. We need no legislation on it. There are many moralities, none is valid; this is an amoral world. Life only appears to have a moral dimension because we choose to overlay one on it, that is why there are so many moralities.
Thanks for your thoughts.

tommoriarty

The date of 2012 was one of the later predictions I've seen. Some climate change scientists were saying a couple months ago the arctic would be ice free this summer. They also predicted all the polar bears would starve, Greenland would melt and Disneyworld along with the rest of Florida would be under 70 feet of water. They were delighted when that ice shelf down in the western Antarctic collapsed. It proved they said that global warming was worldwide. Still I keep reading stories that the pack ice everywhere else around Antarctica is growing. Furthermore it's getting colder down there, not just in the Antarctic but the entire southern hemisphere. I'm really looking forward to this summer. I really want to see if the Arctic pack ice is going to melt or not. If it does melt it will be the first time since WWII that ships could use the northwest passage.

It is good to know that the ice free prediction has been moved back to 2030. Just a few moths ago it was predicted that the Arctic would be ice free by 2012.

Best Regards,
Tom
